Fresh Bed Plantings Give This Geist Home Serious Curb Appeal

Most front beds don't fail because of one big problem. They fade slowly - a few bare spots here, overgrown shrubs there, mulch that's broken down to nothing. Before long, the whole front of the house just looks tired.

That's exactly the kind of thing we fix. This Geist home needed a fresh start along the main walkway leading to the front door. We came in with a clean design plan - new shrubs spaced evenly on both sides of the path, fresh dark mulch laid throughout the beds, and clean bed edges that give everything a sharp, defined look.

The plant selection here was intentional. Low-growing rounded shrubs anchor the bed closest to the house, giving it structure without blocking windows or overwhelming the brick facade. Smaller plantings on the opposite side of the walk add balance and leave room to fill in over time. It's a simple layout, but that's the point - clean lines, good bones, and nothing fighting for attention.

What makes a front bed feel finished isn't one single element. It's how everything works together. The mulch color, the plant spacing, the way the bed edge follows the curve of the walk. When those details line up, the whole property feels intentional - like someone actually thought it through.
